Now is the time to save. You don’t want to wait till your child is 15, 15 or 17 before you think about college savings. The earlier you start the better. I know plenty of people who didn’t think ahead and now have to mortgage there house is this awful real estate market. Not an easy thing to do. It is so easy now a days. Just pick a small amount to start with and get it coming out of your pay automatically every pay check straight into your 529 plans. If you don’t have to think about it you will do it. If you try to do it manually it will never happen. The key to success is to figure out how to get the money into savings before you can touch it… spend it… burn it…. wipe with it… whatever you do with your money. Now a days I stick a lot of my money into my gas tank … I don’t know about you.
